Medical OI - Ovulation Induction
Ovulation Induction (OI) is a fertility treatment that uses medications to cause or regulate ovulation, or increase the number of eggs produced during a cycle, to increase the opportunity for pregnancy.
What is ovulation Induction
OI is a process of using medication to stimulate ovulation in women who have irregular or absent ovulation.
Normal ovulation occurs when the ovary releases a mature egg in preparation for that egg to be fertilized.
Normal ovulation occurs roughly once evening 28 days during a woman mentored cycle.
Intervals of 20 to 35 days are considered acceptable and reflective of normal ovulation.

CC is usually started on day 3,4 or 5th of mentored cycle at a dose once daily ton 5 days.
Ovulation usually occurs between cycle day 14 and 19.
Ovulation monitoring can be done by usg OV ovulation predictor kit.
The kit uses a urine sample to predict when ovulation in about to occurs by measuring the LH level. Optimal timing of intercourse is on the day of LH single and the following day when ovulation occurs.
If ovulation doesn’t occur during 1st month, CC dose in increased by each month till ovulation the maximum dose should be

Injectable Ovulation introduction drugs are
FSH Injection
Injectable FSH are started on Day 3 and are continued for 6-10 day Responding on response.
During that time you may need 3-4 USG scan and blood entradiol level when the loading follicular will be 18 to 20 you will be introduce to take 2 HCG which trigger ovulation.
IUI or inter course can then be preformed to achieve conception.
Who could benefit from OI
Ovulation induction is common treatment for women Pcod women will also get benefit from ovulation induction.
Ovulation also works in conjuction IVF by stimulating multiple mature eggs to release for collection and use in lab fertilization.
This is typically called controlled ovarian hype stimulation.
For women who continue to experience abnormal ovulation after ovulation induction treatment / physician can also try superovulation.
